GREEN CODE - DIGITAL POSTER DESIGNING AND SPOT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITIONS
As part of the observance of Eco Oasis - Environment Day 2026, the Department of Computer Science organized Digital Poster Designing and Spot Photography competitions to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to express their creativity through digital media and photography.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their talents by highlighting various environmental themes such as conservation of nature, sustainable living, biodiversity protection, and eco-friendly practices. The events provided a platform for students to demonstrate their technical skills, creativity, and commitment towards environmental responsibility.
In the Digital Poster Designing Competition, Issac C.S (IIIyr BCA) secured the First Prize for his outstanding poster that effectively conveyed the message of environmental conservation through innovative design and impactful visuals.
In the Spot Photography Competition, Nizam Koya (IIIyr BBA) and Sreekanth S Nath (IIIyr BCA) Shared the First Prize for capturing a compelling photograph that reflected the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving the environment.
The Department of Computer Science extends its heartfelt congratulations to the winners for their remarkable achievements. The department also appreciates and congratulates all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and valuable contributions, which made the event a grand success.

International Yoga Day
The NSS and NCC units of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy jointly celebrated International Yoga Day on 22 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation from students and faculty members.
The programme was conducted to promote the importance of yoga in maintaining physical health, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle. The resource person for the session was Mr. Lenin Unnikrishnan, Yoga Practitioner from Art of Living. He guided the students through various yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. He also explained the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life for improving concentration, flexibility, and overall health.

Don Bosco College NSS Unit Honoured for Outstanding Contribution to Voluntary Blood Donation
The NSS Unit of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, was honoured by the Blood Bank of General Hospital, Thrissur, in recognition of its exemplary contribution to voluntary blood donation and humanitarian service.
The award was presented as a token of appreciation for the unit’s consistent efforts in promoting blood donation awareness and encouraging students to participate in life-saving donation drives. Through its dedicated initiatives, the NSS Unit has played a significant role in supporting healthcare services and fostering a spirit of social responsibility among the student community.
This recognition reflects the commitment, dedication, and selfless service of the NSS volunteers and programme coordinators. The honour stands as a testament to their efforts in saving lives, serving society, and spreading the message of compassion and humanity.
The achievement inspires the students to continue contributing to noble causes and upholding the values of service, solidarity, empathy, and community welfare, which form the cornerstone of the NSS movement

Poster Presentation Observed World Day Against Child Labour
The Department of Social Work organized a Poster Presentation on 12 June 2026 in observance of the World Day Against Child Labour. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of child labour and the importance of ensuring children's rights to education, safety, and a healthy childhood.
Students actively participated in the event by preparing and presenting informative and creative posters highlighting various aspects of child labour, including its causes, consequences, and preventive measures. The posters effectively conveyed messages advocating for the elimination of child labour and the promotion of children's welfare.
The event served as a platform for students to express their social responsibility and commitment towards building a child-friendly society. Faculty members appreciated the participants for their creativity, awareness, and dedication to the cause.
The programme concluded with a call to support global efforts to eradicate child labour and ensure a safe, secure, and dignified future for every child.

TECHSERVE 2026: Exploring the Future Through Augmented Reality Glasses
The Department of Computer Science, under the Helios Association in association with IQAC, successfully organized a TECHSERVE session on “Augmented Reality Glasses” on 12 June 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the College Auditorium.
The program commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, Principal, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy. In his address, he emphasized the importance of staying updated with emerging technologies and encouraged students to make the best use of such learning opportunities to enhance their knowledge, creativity, and professional skills.
The technical session was led by Mr. Sanad Aboobacker Sajith, III BCA, who provided an insightful introduction to the concept of Augmented Reality (AR) and its growing significance in the modern technological landscape. He explained how AR glasses seamlessly integrate digital information with the real-world environment, creating immersive and interactive experiences. The session also highlighted the wide-ranging applications of AR glasses in fields such as education, healthcare, gaming, manufacturing, and industrial training.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Gokul Sona and Ms. Jerin Mathai, with Mr. Hayden Joby serving as the Student Coordinator. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and interactions throughout the program.
The TECHSERVE session proved to be both informative and inspiring, offering participants valuable insights into one of the most promising technologies shaping the future. The program concluded with a heartfelt note of appreciation to the resource person, coordinators, and all participants for their contributions in making the event a grand success.

MoU Signing with IBM Q2D Pearl
Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM Q2D Pearl as part of a national initiative to enhance students' skills and industry readiness. The collaboration aims to provide students with opportunities to earn IBM-recognized certifications alongside their undergraduate studies.
The programs offered under the initiative include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The partnership will help students develop technical expertise, innovation skills, and entrepreneurial aptitude, preparing them for emerging career opportunities.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by representatives of Don Bosco College and IBM Q2D Pearl, marking the beginning of a promising academic-industry collaboration.

Field Trip to ICAR Vellanikkara
The Department of English,Don Bosco college Mannuthy, Thrissur in association with IQAC organised a field trip to ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources on 8 June,2026 as a part of Environment day celebration.The event started with a seminar by Dr Suma, research supervisor.The seminar was very informative and she insisted students about the need and importance of preserving the traditional high quality seeds . Students were eager to know about the objectives and goals of NPTCR.We had the opportunity to visit the seed bank and fields where rear seeds were cultivated.

CYBERSECURITY - Hands on Training Workshop
The Department of Computer Science, in association with IQAC, organized a “CYBERSECURITY – Hands-on Training Workshop” on 9 June 2026 in the Computer Lab. The workshop was led by Mr. Gopikrishnan P. G., CEO and Senior Developer, Grapesgenix Technical Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who provided valuable insights into cyber security, cyber threats, and digital safety practices.
The session covered topics such as phishing attacks, malware, password security, network security, and data protection. Through hands-on activities, students gained practical exposure to cyber security tools, secure browsing practices, vulnerability assessment, and threat detection techniques. The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session and successfully enhanced participants’ awareness and practical knowledge of cyber security.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and community members, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

Inauguration of ECO OASIS 2026–2027
World Environment Day 2026 Celebration
Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, organized the inauguration of ECO OASIS 2026–2027 in connection with World Environment Day on 05 June 2026 at the College Auditorium.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Mary Theresa Joseph, Head of the Department of Social Work. Dr. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, Principal, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Mr. Nishad P. A., Assistant Secretary, Thrissur Corporation, who also delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
An Environmental Oath-Taking Ceremony was led by Union Chairman Jaiden Evan Solomon, encouraging participants to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute towards environmental protection.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem, marking the successful inauguration of ECO OASIS 2026–2027 and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

As part of the observance of World Environment Day 2026, the Department of Commerce and Department of Management, Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), are organizing an Educational Visit to the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) on 4 June 2026.
The visit is designed to enhance students' understanding of environmental conservation, biodiversity, sustainable development, and ecological research. Through direct interaction with experts and exposure to KFRI's research facilities, students will gain valuable insights into contemporary environmental challenges and the significance of preserving natural resources.

BOSCONOVA 2026–27, the Academic Year Inauguration of Don Bosco College Mannuthy, was held on 01 June 2026 at the college auditorium. The programme began with prayer followed by the welcome speech by Ms. Minu Thomas, Vice Principal. Rev. Fr. Cyril Edamana SDB officially inaugurated the academic year and delivered the message of blessing. Dr. Fr. Jimmy Jose SDB, Principal, addressed the students and shared instructions for the new academic year. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Josmi P J, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department. The event marked a joyful and inspiring beginning to the academic year.
